and gaining experience with major national construction companies progressing from Site Engineer, Site Agent, Contracts Manager, Snr Contracts Manager and onto leading and complete management of Civil Engineering and Rail business units. After 18yrs in the industry Jim decided the time was right to set up and manage his own construction business using all of the knowledge, experience and relationships he had gained to ensure the successful establishment of Bridge Construction Ltd and to ensure it was done right.
6yrs in and Bridge Construction has grown into a well-respected and established business all thanks to the leadership and attitude of Jim along with Richard and his management team. Holding positions on several Regional Frameworks and repeatedly working for high end Clients and Main Contractors is only achieved and maintained from a desire to work at the top end of the industry with impeccable standards, quality, performance and maintaining open and honest communication.

the University of Nottingham in 2011 with a BSC Honours in Quantity Surveying. After graduating Richard progressed through the project roles of Assistant QS, Project QS and Senior QS prior to his current role as Commercial Director at Bridge Construction.
Richard has very good knowledge of the operational side of the industry but his passion lies within the commercial side where his attention to detail and enthusiasm ensures the commercial efficiency of all of our projects and the business.
Operating with openness and honesty has enabled Richard to build good working relationships with clients and the supply chain ensuring repeat business and growth for the business.
In his spare time Richard enjoys spending time with his Wife and two young daughters, completing DIY projects, with the odd game of football when time allows.
