Dudley Zoological Gardens – Phase 2G Access road, Car Park, Roundabout, Access Ramp & Footways
To demolish the Virgin Balloon Building and old entrance kiosk/ security hut, to build a 2200m2 carpark, access road, teardrop island, 1500m2 access ramp, 120m footpath / cycleway and retaining wall construction. Sewer & stream diversions, future proofing for the zoo foul and storm drains, 2500m2 strengthening overlay (inside the zoo) associated drainage and ducting works.
Additional works being incorporated including ww2 bomb tunnel within the program so that the works were completed successfully on programme ready for the busy Easter opening 2015 as required by the client with additional works open by the May bank holiday. All works completed whilst zoo patrons passing through worksite, excellent communication and management meant the zoo continued to operate without disruption throughout the busy construction programme.
