Pedmore Road – Brierley Hill, Dudley New Pedestrian Crossing and Road Re-alignment
Works were required to install a new pedestrian crossing at an accident hotspot on the busy dual carriageway ring road, this required the diversion of services including HV, water, BT and medium pressure gas mains, the re-alignment of the carriageway and to widen the central reserve for the central island of the crossing.
Bridge Construction planned and managed the work to the hour every day ensuring all key stakeholders were kept informed as works progressed. Traffic management was employed to ensure the road remained open to traffic and all road users and workforce were kept safe and fully aware of the works progressing. Works were completed in 2 halves to accommodate the road remaining open to traffic. The works were completed successfully on programme.
