Leicester North West Phase 2
Tarmac Infrastructure won the latest phase of work for Leicester City Council, costing circa £5million and involved creating additional lanes to improve traffic flow at the junction of Blackbird Road, Anstey Lane and Ravensbridge Drive, as well as improving the layout and resurfacing the junction of Ravensbridge Drive and A6 St Margaret’s Way.
The majority of works were undertaken in live traffic with minimal closures and off peak traffic management to allow free flowing traffic of the already congested junctions.
Works included raising existing road levels, installation of storm water drainage, retaining structures, new road and footpath construction, extensive service diversion preparation, kerb drainage, signal ducting and NAL sockets and preparation for surfacing operations.
Working closely with Tarmac and LCC’s site teams Bridge Construction were able to offer cost effective solutions to unforeseen issues within the design and construction process which enabled the project to maintain forward momentum and complete prior to the Christmas Moratorium.
